The Greatest Spring Jacket You Absolutely Can’t Live Without

Spring is here, for today at least in Chicago. But with Spring weather, we get temperature extremes. One second it’s 41º and the next it’s 65! You never know what you are going to get when you walk out the door! I pride myself on being weather appropriate…hence why I didn’t do many winter fashion posts. I talk about my weather-preparedness  in Winter Fashion: The Struggle is Real (at least for me) and break down my only winter look here.

But BLAH enough about DUMB WINTER and back to SPRING!! So, like I was saying above…Spring’s weather is very unpredictable which is why I’m here to bring you a functional and fashionable jacket that is different from your standard trench coat.

My absolute, cannot live without, spring jacket is the anorak or utility jacket. I love that they are longer to cover your booty but have a waist-defining draw string. Most come with hoods and are waterproof for those April (and May) showers you might get caught in! And finally, they have tons of nifty pockets – easy for putting your phone, keys and few cards so you can go on an unencumbered stroll or just errand run if you aren’t into spring strolling. Below I have on my fave anorak jacket and will break down the whole look for you so keep on scrolling!

Before we get to the jacket, I’m gonna break down the other parts of the outfit. My jeans are DL1961 – Emma Power Legging from Nordstrom. My top is from Gap and can be found here – it’s on sale too!! The sunnies are Ray-Ban. Necklace is from H&M, and it’s finally on-line here (also under $8). My watch is older Michael Kors, but here is a similar version.  The booties are also old (I re-wear a lot!) but again here are some other options herehere and here. The braided weave bracelet is located here. Finally, my tote is from Old Navy right here, and it’s on sale for only $19 WAHOO!

All right, now that we have all those details out of the way…on to my favorite anorak jackets of the season! Mine about is old from Nordstrom. So you know, I had to find you very similar ones! I have a couple navy ones like mine and a few other options too. I think number 1 & 4 are really close to mine.

Peace out,

Wet Hair, Don’t Care

  1. I need to get me one of these coats, this is perfect! New England spring weather is pretty similar…one day it’s 70 one day it’s like 43. Mother Nature, make up your mind!

    1. Hi Zoe – Thanks so much for the comment! It was actually Steve Madden and I think I got in 2014. I totally agree about covering up the booty and the drawstrings really help define the waist! Please let me know if you have any other questions! Thank you for visiting 🙂
