Taking a Coffee Break at Asado

Sometimes the busy work week can eat you alive…You can sit down at your desk on Monday and next thing you know it’s almost Thursday. Where did the time go? If you ever need a breather away, take a quick stroll to Asado at 22 E Jackson Blvd in the Loop, Chicago. This quaint little coffee shop is nestled in the alley way of two buildings on Jackson in between State and Wabash. The coffee is amazingly delicious and comparably priced to your usual Starbucks bill. The website goes into detail about the how they sustainably and responsibly source their beans which is awesome. They roast all their beans in house as well and have several different techniques for making your coffee. If you haven’t noticed, I’m so addicted to coffee that I’m one cup away from being Lorelai Gilmore’s second daughter, and Asado definitely hits all the “foodie-coffee-person” buttons. Not only will it be a perfect way to start your morning, it can also give you that afternoon pick-me up and a moment of peace away from the office. The shop itself is tiny with no place to sit; however, the alley way will transport you to a European sidewalk café. Here you can sit for a second and enjoy. Between the exposed brick of the buildings and the perfect globe string lights strung above your head, you can’t help but want to stay for few seconds.

Next time you need a good cup of coffee to either kick start your day or recharge your afternoon battery, give this place a look-up. Hopefully, you can get there before the weather turns so you can sit outside and appreciate the special atmosphere they have created.
